Chinese New Year Shopping At Chinatown, Singapore

Hi there! Have you all done your Chinese New Year shopping spree? Two days ago i went to Chinatown, was a bit disappointed to be honest because the decoration at Chinatown this year is......"so so only"...... (see pic below)

Hmmm......then i walked further a bit to check the Q for buying bak kua.....hahaha nothing new! As always, you will expect the Q is as long as few meters, at least! Look at the Q of the Lim Chee Guan!

Decided not to waste time on the Q for Lim Chee Guan, went to buy the bak kua from Bee Cheng Hiang! Honestly i find Bee Cheng Hiang's bak kua is more tender compare to Lim Chee Guan. I like it!

As most of you may know, during this time all the prices for the Chinese New Year goodies are sky high! Take for example this sambal prawn roll, 300g selling for $20!

* I have lubang where to buy cheaper & equally good taste of prawn roll (filling : either chiken or meat, spicy or non spicy) at a reasonable price, almost half price of  what is sold everywhere!

Reasonable price of goodies from this shop at #01-32 The Bencoolon

Well, if you are not in a hurry to buy the goodies and hope to get a rock bottom price goodies, wait till after 12am on the eve of the Chinese New Year or on the first & second Day of the Lunar New Year! There's when all the stalls at the Chinatown trying to clear as much stock as possible! Enjoy your Chinese New Year Shopping & Happy New Year!!
